About Event
We're kicking off Black History Month with "Holding Our Stories," a special edition of SHOW & TELL in collaboration with We The Diaspora, an organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating Black cultural memory across the diaspora through storytelling.
Attendees are invited to bring a photograph or an object connected to an ancestor, a chosen family member, or a loved one whose story they want to honor.
FACILITATOR BIO
Jiya Pinder is a digital storyteller and founder of We The Diaspora, a living archive preserving stories across the global Black diaspora. With a background in digital marketing for major brands and movements like Nike, Color Of Change, Black Futures Lab, and others, Jiya brings a deep understanding of how storytelling can drive both culture and impact. She founded We The Diaspora in 2020 to preserve and celebrate cultural memory across the global Black diaspora through workshops, story circles, and multimedia projects.
