Just Hang: Kimjang Night
Join Studio Bumi for a hands-on evening of kimchi-making workshop together, hosted by our friend, Andrea Kim
This gathering is inspired by kimjang, the communal practice of preparing and sharing kimchi with your community.
You will learn how to make kimchi from scratch while exploring its cultural history and significance. After preparing the kimchi together, we’ll enjoy it as a group with thoughtfully selected pairings that highlight its fresh and vibrant flavors.
All ingredients and supplies are provided, each participant will go home with a 16oz jar of the kimchi they made.
Hosts
Andrea Kim
A former techie turned law student, Andrea is passionate about improving our healthcare system through multiple avenues, including food. Outside of her studies, she hosts kimchi-making workshops rooted in Korean tradition. By sharing the practice of kimjang, Andrea hopes to foster healing from the gut to the heart.
This gathering is inspired by kimjang, the communal tradition of preparing and sharing kimchi within one’s community. Participants will learn how to make kimchi from scratch while exploring its meaningful history. After preparing the kimchi together, we’ll enjoy the ferments of our labor as a family, sharing a meal that highlights its fresh and punchy flavors.

Studio Bumi is a food-experience studio on a mission to design belonging through communal dining.
Just Hang is a new Studio Bumi series centered around building community and empowering our community members to host their own gatherings. These events are opportunities for meaningful connection, with diverse themes and activities. Come hang out and let us know if have you have an idea for a gathering you want to host!
Cancellations & Refunds
We’re a small team and each gathering is thoughtfully planned based on the number of guests.
For this reason, all sales are final and we do not offer cancellations or refunds. If something comes up, you're welcome to either transfer your ticket to a friend or move it to a future gathering date (subject to availabilities), no later than 72 hours before the event—we’re happy to help coordinate either option.
If Just Hang is canceled or rescheduled by us, guests will receive a full refund or a transfer option.

Photography & Video Release. Photos and videos will be taken during the gathering for documentation and promotional purposes. By purchasing a ticket, you consent to being photographed and filmed, and allow Studio Bumi to use these materials across our website, social media, and other promotional channels.
Alcohol Consumption. If the event includes alcohol, please drink responsibly. You must be 21+ to consume alcoholic beverages.
Respecting the Space & Community. This is a shared space meant to foster connection. We ask all guests to show respect to fellow diners, staff and the space.
