Agentic AI Workshop: Getting Started with Claude Code
Claude Code is getting a lot of attention, but you don’t need to be a software engineer to get real value from it. In this 90‑minute, hands‑on workshop, you’ll get a gentle, practical introduction to Claude Code so you can start using it to support your work with small automations and simple custom tools.
This session is a follow‑up to “Agentic AI Foundations with Claude Cowork” and is designed to help you take the next step: going from understanding agentic workflows to building basic building blocks that those workflows can call. We’ll stay firmly in “getting started” territory — you’ll learn what’s realistic for a non‑developer, how to think about simple scripts and helpers, and where you should still rely on a developer for more complex systems.
What we’ll cover
In 75–90 minutes together, we’ll cover:
What Claude Code is and where it fits in an agentic AI stack.
A clear picture of what you can and shouldn’t expect from Claude Code as a non‑developer.
How to describe a problem or workflow in plain language so Claude Code can suggest simple scripts or utilities.
Guided examples of “starter wins” like cleaning or transforming data, restructuring text, or making small repetitive tasks faster.
How these basic tools can plug back into the workflows you designed in the Cowork workshop.
The goal is confidence with the basics, not replacing a developer.
Format
90‑minute in‑person workshop (expect ~75 minutes of content + Q&A)
Location: In‑person (bring your laptop)
Style: Live demos, step‑by‑step exercises, and time to adapt a simple example to your own work
Requirements (Read This Before You Register)
To follow along, you’ll need to be able to run Claude Code during the session.
Please come with:
A laptop (macOS or Windows) you can bring to the workshop.
A paid Claude plan that includes Claude Code access (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise).
Claude Code installed and working before you arrive (we’ll send a short setup checklist and links in advance).
You do not need prior coding experience; if you have some, you’ll simply be able to go a bit deeper during the exercises.
Who this is for
People who joined the Agentic AI Foundations / Claude Cowork workshop and want a gentle, practical next step.
Operators, creators, and knowledge workers who want to experiment with small, safe automations without trying to “become a developer.”
Anyone curious about what Claude Code can realistically do for them at the “getting started” stage.
What you’ll leave with
By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with:
A grounded understanding of what Claude Code can and can’t do for non‑developers.
At least one simple example (e.g., a basic script or helper) that you’ve seen created and iterated with Claude Code.
A clearer sense of when to use Claude Code yourself and when to involve a developer for more complex work
