AI in Education Meetup #7
Can you tell? AI vs human writing and what it says about how we read.
We'll start with a quick AI vs Human writing quiz. It’s a deceptively tricky test of whether you can tell machine-written text from the real thing. It's harder than most people expect. And that's kind of the point.
Because the question isn't really whether AI writing is obviously bad. Sometimes it isn't. The more interesting question is: when AI fools us, what does that reveal about how we read? And when it doesn’t, what's actually missing?
Specificity. A point of view. Friction. Uncertainty. A sentence that takes a risk. Writing that sounds like someone was actually in it.
After the quiz and a short discussion, we'll work in small groups to design a simple "Turing-inspired" activity, something you could actually use with learners in a classroom, a workshop, or at home, that builds this kind of critical reading alongside stronger writing. Not "spot the robot," but: what makes writing feel human, and how do we teach that?
Come. Share. Connect with humans.
