Victorian Origami Valentines
Valentine's Day's origins spark lively debate. Is it rooted in Catholic traditions? Does it trace back to ancient pagan fertility festivals? Regardless of its beginnings, one thing is clear: for centuries, people have embraced unique ways to express their love—romantic, platonic, secret or otherwise.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, written tokens of love blossomed into popularity, paving the way for the valentines traditions we are familiar with today. We invite y'all to delve into the history of paper valentines with us.
Join this class to master the art of creating origami valentines known as "puzzle purses." You'll get hands-on instruction, perfect the folding technique and spend the rest of the evening decorating your creation with paint, pens, markers, or collage.
Were you into folding cootie catchers or passing notes in class? This one is for you.❤️
