how do we encourage corporate accountability? (expert q&a with dinner included)
Make friends who care about stuff at Soapbox Seattle, the city's most fun community space for climate action!
We're having a party for people who care about the planet. Same time, same place, every week. You're invited. Request a reparative ticket here if you need one.
What does it actually mean to hold companies accountable — and who gets to do it?
For April’s Learn Night, we’re digging into corporate accountability: the pressures, incentives, and opportunities that shape how businesses act on climate and sustainability. From inside companies to outside advocacy, what are the real levers of change — and how can we use them more effectively?
Join us for an interactive panel and audience Q&A with four incredible leaders working in the space:
Jenny Morgan, Senior Market Development Manager at Tradewater & author of Cancel Culture in Climate
Jenny's expertise spans corporate social responsibility, social and environmental impact, the B Corp movement, carbon markets, and high-integrity climate strategy. Her work focuses on helping organizations translate climate ambition into action through collaboration, transparency, and measurable outcomes.
Kendria Huff, Sustainability Consultant at Anthesis Group
Kendria works with corporations to help them navigate pressing environmental challenges and support their overall environmental sustainability efforts. Her projects span across sustainable production and consumptions, annual impact reporting, strategy development and circular economy principles. Her previous experience includes working in the public sector, environmental policy and in-house corporate sustainability.
Alma Cardenas, Founder of Aster Horizons
Alma works at the intersection of people, nature, and technology as an advocate for a more sustainable world. Through her business, she helps organizations meet sustainability requirements and reduce their environmental impact. She is a climate risk professional, biodiversity conservationist, and computer engineer. At home, Alma is a Master Gardener and a member of the WSU Climate Action Team, where she helps educate communities and lead initiatives on climate‑smart horticultural practices.
Drew Wilkinson, Founder of Climate Leadership Collective
Drew is a sustainability consultant, community organizer, and climate activist. He works for Planet Earth but provides consulting services for employee engagement through the Climate Leadership Collective, helping organizations make sustainability part of everybody's job. In a past life, he founded Microsoft's 10,000 member employee sustainability community, toured the world in a punk band, and was an eco-pirate for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
This won’t be a one-way conversation! Bring your questions, perspectives, and curiosity. Together, we’ll explore the challenges, opportunities, and real-world levers for influencing corporate behavior — and what role we can each play.
