About Event

You'll walk in and immediately see what makes everyone in the room tick.

Map The Room is a dinner that makes the invisible visible - patterns, overlaps, and the quiet things you have in common with strangers.

Is this event for you?

  • You believe sharing food is a love language 🥟❤️

  • You want a real sense of everyone in the room, not just the pocket you land in

  • You like meeting new people, but don’t love “working the room”

  • You’re curious about patterns, overlaps, and differences... especially when you can see them

  • You enjoy playful, reflective prompts, lateral thinking, and light games (inspired by NYT Games, Family Feud, Catchphrase, Chain Reaction)

What the night looks like

7:00-7:45: 👋 Arrival, Meet Your Seat Partners, Exploring
You're guided to a designated seat. A personal pocket guide awaits you. Inside is an introduction to who's to the left and right of you and a broader glimpse of the room. You wander around and discover visual artefacts that reveal how the room thinks.

8:00: Feast begins!
Food arrives. Prepared prompts offer you ways into getting to know your table more and you discover there's more behind your seat.

9:00: 🧠 Play Intermission!
Connections in the room now become a game...

9:30-10:15: Free roam
Follow the threads you've discovered over the night. The room is yours.

Note: This is a queer-run, queer-affirming, inclusive space. To keep the ambiance intimate, event is capped at 28 guests.

6 people max per table.

How it works

A short, playful questionnaire lands in your inbox April 29. 12 questions — not "what's your job" and not "what are your deepest fears." Think: scenarios, curiosities, perspectives. Loosely themed around roots (in more ways than one 😉).

Your answers shape the visual displays, your seating, and the puzzle clues for the night.

To make sure everything is thoughtfully prepared, there’s a cutoff date for full customization.

Key dates

  • April 30 2026 - Questionnaire (12 questions) sent to registered guests in the evening. (This will be sent to you even if you sign up after)

  • 4 days to complete the questions. (Estimated completion time: 15-20 minutes)

  • May 3 2026 11:59PM - Registration deadline for full participation.

  • May 7 2026 7:00PM - We feast, play, and map the room

Late sign-ups

You’re still welcome to purchase a ticket after May 3 if spots remain. Late registrants can fully participate in the dinner and activities, but may not be fully included in the prepared visual artefacts.

Refunds

I understand plans change! I offer refunds with at least 4 days notice before the event (May 3 7:00pm). After that point, tickets are non-refundable as materials are prepared and printed in advance.
