MythOS 101: Intro to Ritual Theatre [public]

​Calling all ritualists, witches, alchemists, wizards, magical beings of all names, shapes and sizes.  

​Please join me for this inaugural Intro to Ritual Theatre class offering. 

​In this afternoon immersion will explore what Ritual Theatre is: the art of crafting a prayer rand bringing it into form through contemporary performance art, ancient ritual technologies and immersive experience design. 

​ My intention is to teach the foundations of ritual language and attunement to the group ritual field, where we have the language, vocabulary and presence to hold each other safely in ritual space. When we have this language, we can bring ritual anywhere and everywhere, together. 

​ My name is Nicole and I have directed and produced Ritual Theatre offerings for Lightning in a Bottle, Hedoné Mexico, The Portal, and most recently The SphinxGate @ Burning Man.  After cultivating these ritual offerings around the world, I am excited to gather more ritualists in the Bay Area to create and offer more to our local community. 

​We will craft a prayer and choreograph a scene or couple scenes together.

​Hello Magical Beings, 

​I'm so excited to gather with you all tomorrow and initiate our ritual theatre community. We will begin promptly at 12:15pm please factor in transit & parking. 

​Feel free to bring snacks or anything you'd like to share, we will have a break for lunch midway through the day.  We'll be flowing, here's an estimated schedule: 

12-12:15pm - Arrival

​12:15 - 1pm - Intros & Intro to Ritual Theatre

​1 - 2:30pm - Attunement to the Ritual Field - Passing of First Ritual Gestures

​2:30 - 3:30pm - Lunch Break

​3:30 - 6pm - Prayer Craft & Scene Choreography

​People have asked if they must stay the whole time -- ideally please come at the start, leaving early is fine.  Coming late is less ideal as we are building a group frequency. Please text me at 281.620.8143to discuss any timing discrepancies, or with any other questions.  

There is potential to participate in a NYE ritual at a local event for those who are interested, details to be revealed.  Workshop attendees will have priority participation.
