AI at the Service of Communities: Creating Pipelines of Access and Ensuring Human-Centered Innovation
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the way we learn, work, and connect—but its true potential lies in how it can uplift communities. This roundtable will explore how AI can be a force for inclusion and empowerment, helping to close opportunity gaps and strengthen local ecosystems.
Leaders from academia, government, technology, and community organizations will come together to discuss how to design and deploy AI tools that expand access—especially for underrepresented communities—and ensure that innovation remains rooted in ethical responsibility and social good.
Through this dialogue, we will consider:
Access & Equity: How can we create pathways that prepare students and workers from all backgrounds to participate in the AI-driven economy?
Community Voice & Design: How do we ensure communities are co-creators, not bystanders, in shaping AI’s future?
Ethical Responsibility: How can we center transparency, accountability, and justice in AI development and implementation?
This session will serve as a foundation for ongoing collaboration among higher education, civic, and private-sector partners—committed to advancing AI for the common good. The dialogue will inform strategies for equitable workforce development, responsible innovation, and policy frameworks that ensure AI remains at the service of communities.
