About Event

โ€‹This Earth Month, join us at Shark Garden to give back! ๐Ÿฆˆ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿชด๐ŸŒ

โ€‹Shark Gardenโ€™s mission is to โ€œeducate all people on the importance of growing food, model responsible environmental stewardship, enhance connections, and maintain sustainable and inclusive green space.โ€ ๐Ÿ’ก

โ€‹Weโ€™ll start the afternoon with a tour of the community garden, followed by a learning session and demonstration of soil health testing. Then, weโ€™ll roll up our sleeves and begin construction of a new display bed for shade loving pollinator plants!ย

โ€‹You will:

  • โ€‹Learn about gardening and soil health ๐Ÿชด

  • โ€‹Learn how pollinator plants are connected to our food ๐Ÿฆ‹

  • โ€‹Learn how to test your own soil ๐ŸŒฑ

  • โ€‹Learn how you can attract pollinators in your own home! ๐Ÿ

  • โ€‹Gain hands-on experience in building a bed for pollinator plants ๐Ÿ’ก

โ€‹โ€‹When: April 3rd, 1-3pm

โ€‹Where: Shark Garden (614 SW 120th Street, Seattle, WA 98146)

โ€‹Accessibility: Free parking is available in the school lot along SW 120th Street. A porta potty is available. Some parts of the garden are wheelchair accessible, but not all areas since our paths and trails are covered with wood chips that can be uneven and squishy. Several areas can be viewed from our gravel access road.

โ€‹No experience needed! Shark Garden will provide all gloves and tools needed. Bring a water bottle and layered clothes, closed toed shoes strongly recommended. ๐Ÿงค๐Ÿฅพ
