Overcoming Climate Anxiety Community Discussion

You know that feeling when you’re swiping on your phone before bed? Cute cat video… cooking video… and then BOOM - video telling you that the Trump administration aims to open 60 million acres of national Forrests land to logging and development. You get hit with a wave of anger and hopeless. And that’s just a Tuesday night! We get pummeled with news of political division, war and genocide, racism, and enemployment issues and more every day through our phones. And while its a good thing to be knowledgable, too much news consumption can be extremely harmful to our mental health. In this session we’re going to have an open conversation about this issue and learn what each other are doing to consume news and media without spiraling into feelings of hopelessness and despair.

We are hosting this community discussion in response to the current political climate and economic conditions we are facing, and the conversations we've been having with people in our Sustainability Creatives community. These discussions are designed to connect you with others who are feeling similar fears to you, help you learn emotional regulation, and face the future with hope and friendship. You are not alone in facing this world. We would like to create a safe space to explore and learn how to overcome our climate anxiety.

Check out our upcoming programs:

Overcoming Climate Anxiety Program
January 12th - February 4th
Mondays and Wednesdays 1-3PM PT
$119

As professionals in climate, we carry emotions like grief, anger, hopelessness, and overwhelm with us every day. Times are especially hard right now, and our feelings matter and deserve space. That’s why we’re bringing in Licensed Therapist, Cara Reiner, to help us process our climate anxiety through reflection, challenge, community, hope, and self-care. In this 4-week program, we will take steps to overcome our climate anxiety, so our sustainability work can continue to feel sustainable for us, too.
